How I feel about this character: I love him so much. He makes my heart explode. I fully understand that he is not a nice man, and he is not even really a good man. But I think he deserves so much more credit. I know he treated Harry like crap, but it would have been hard for him to stare at a copy of the man who bullied him. I think he was an unfailingly loving man who did more than his fair share to right his wrongs. I don’t think he deserved to die, especially not after how he was evicted from Hogwarts. I hate how he was treated as a child and teenager, he just never had a chance. I know he never should have insulted Lily, but I think she’s a selfish bitch for never forgiving him. A true friend wouldn’t hold something like that over another’s head. I think he has so much love and such a big heart. I think he was the true hero of the series and war. He sacrificed the most. He lived a double life serving two masters, was manipulated and guilted into killing his mentor, and if it wasn’t for him Harry would have died very early on. Not to mention he was killed as a thanks for his actions. He deserved so much better.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: No Lily, definitely 100% NOT Lily. I have a big thing for him with Hermione, but I don’t really ship them when it comes to cannon. I think when written well, they have a beautiful and healing relationship. I’ve read some amazing fanfiction. But I do understand and agree how Hermione and Ron fit in the cannon. But I think if I had my own way, he would be with Hermione. They have a lot of common interests, they are both academic. Hermione is fiery enough that she wouldn’t let his temper get to her. Hermione also has Slytherin characteristic (she gave Umbridge to Centaurs!). Plus Hermione is loyal and loving and forgiving, not to mention patient. I think they would be really healthy for each other.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Probably McGonagall, I can just imagine their little arguments and conversations in the staff room. Snape would purposely do things to annoy her and goad her, so she’d come marching in and yell at him. Typical friendly banter. I also like him with Trelawney, there are a lot of fics where she has unrequited feelings for him. I laugh thinking about her swooning over him at the staff table and reading her tea leaves that say they are soul mates, and him sneering at her and storming off.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I think he more than paid his price for his mistakes as a Death Eater. I think Dumbledore took advantage of him and manipulated him for his own uses. I think it was incredibly selfish to make Snape kill him, knowing how much it would hurt him.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Well I wish he lived for one thing. Hermione and Snape, enough said. Them and several babies and lots of yummy goodness. 

I just have a lot of feelings about this man!
